Washington, DC. A new science policy advocacy tool is provided by the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS) to members of the biological sciences research and education community with financial contributions from the Society for the Study of Evolution, American Society for Limnology and Oceanography, Association of Ecosystem Research Centers, and the Botanical Society of America.
This exciting new advocacy tool allows you to quickly and easily communicate with members of Congress, executive branch officials, Governors and state legislators, and selected media outlets. AIBS and our partner organizations invite you to become a science policy advocate today. Simply go to http://capwiz.com/aibs/home/ to send a prepared letter to your Representative and Senators thanking them for voting to include more than $17 billion in science funding in the recently passed economic stimulus package. If your Senator or Representative opposed the legislation, you may send a prepared letter that encourages them to support science funding the next opportunity they have. The best part - the system knows how your elected officials voted and provides you with an appropriate letter. All you need to do is provide your zip code. However, if you wish to craft your own letter - you may do that too!
